Things I’m Loving This May

Things I’m Loving This May

Books, music, scents, shows, and little moments making this season sweeter.

May always feels like a deep breath to me. The days are a little longer, the air a little softer, and everything feels full of possibility again. Here are the little things I’m loving this month. Maybe you’ll find something new to love, too.

Books

I’ve been gravitating toward cozy, feel-good stories with a touch of nostalgia. Right now, I’m loving The Other Bennet Sister by Janice Hadlow.

This story is an addition to the magnificent Pride and Prejudice written by Jane Austen following the story of Lizzy’s sister Mary. She is described as the ugly duckling of the five Bennet sisters. It comes on BritBox on May 6th and I wanted to read the book first. I love it!

Music

Soft piano, acoustic playlists, and anything that feels like a warm afternoon. My current favorite is Fleetwood Mac, Dreams.

This music is the background of my teenage years, and I still find it perfect for writing or slow mornings.

Scents

Fresh lilacs and clean cotton. I’ve been burning my favorite candle on repeat. It makes everything feel calmer and a little more magical.

Shows

I’m a rewatcher. Currently I’m rewatching Pride and Prejudice (as always) as I get ready for The Other Bennet Sister and Anne with an E. They are my comfort shows…gentle, heartwarming, and inspiring.

Little Moments

Morning light through the window, handwritten a notes, walks with my coffee, listening to birds, and the joy of crossing things off my to-do list.

May is a reminder to slow down and savor. What small things are bringing you joy this month?
